– The City of Morgan has a population of around 900 people and the Mayor is Robert Fischer.
– The City of Franklin has a population of about 500 people and the Mayor is Ronald Degner.
– Cedar Mountain ’s Class of 2008 got a perfect score on a state-required writing exam in 2006. The state average on the test was 92.7%. Cedar Mountain students got 100%.
– A member of the Morgan Lions Club received the highest honor possible from Lions International in 2007. Perry Becker was in fact the 5th Morgan Lion to receive the prestigious Melvin Jones Award.
– Franklin Fire Department acquired a new tanker truck in 2008. The vehicle features a 2,700 gallon tank and pumping system. It was made possible through a community-wide fundraising campaign.
– The City of Franklin held it’s 33rd annual Catfish Derby Days in 2008 and the theme was “Fishing In The Dark”. Maria Nosbush was crowned Miss Franklin for 2008.
– The City of Morgan celebrated it’s 130th anniversary during it’s 2008 City and Country Days festival.
– The Morgan Messenger newspaper got a new publisher in 2008. Daniel McGonigle took over from Walt Olson.
– The parents of the Cedar Mountain School District in the communities of Morgan and Franklin formed a new organization called HEAT, Honoring Education And Teamwork. Cedar Mountain Superintendent Bob Tews said it demonstrates the level of commitment of the District’s parents.
