Becky Keute fought a long, hard battle with lung and brain cancer for over a year. A benefit was in the works when Becky left us for heaven on September 10, 2012. With the help of her family and friends, there will be a benefit for Becky to help the family with expenses occurred during Becky’s long, hard fight with cancer.

−Sertoma Club – Santa’s Closet11:30 am – 12:30 pm
For the past 26 years, the New Ulm Sertoma Club has sponsored Santa’s Closet. This is a program designed to provide Christmas gifts for children in the New Ulm and Sleepy Eye area who, because of financial difficulties, may not otherwise receive Christmas gifts.
They expect the project to serve approximately 500 children this year. In addition, the New Ulm Sertoma Club provides contributions for other community needs, e.g. services for the hearing impaired, camp scholarships, etc. To continue to meet these needs, they need your help. Your tax-deductible cash contribution will help the New Ulm Sertoma Club continue Santa’s Closet and provide financial support for other community needs.

Domino’s Pizza, the National Fire Protection Association and the New Ulm Fire Department are joining forces to promote fire prevention during Fire Prevention Week.
On Tuesday, October 9, from 5-7pm, anyone who orders a Domino’s Pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If all the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is FREE. If the smoke alarm is not working, the firefighters will replace the batteries or install a fully functioning alarm.

The Madelia Community Hospital and Clinic video is not just a video of dancing with pink gloves on, but is the story of a real fight by a real local person. The video is heartwarming and reassuring.
