    1. The Church of Japanese Martyrs Pancake Breakfast

      The Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth is having a Catholic United Financial Matching Grant Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, December 7th from 9am-12pm in the church hall. On the menu will be Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Applesauce, Coffee, Chocolate Milk and Juice. Cost is $6.00 for adults; $5.00 ages 6-12; $1.50 Preschool. Everyone is welcome.

    1. Santa’s Helpers Workshop for Christmas 2014
      8:00 am – 4:30 pm

      We are looking for donations of new toys, games, mittens, quilts, money,and wrapping paper to meet our goal to make the holidays brighter for those less fortunate. Donations will joyfully be accepted until Monday Dec. 8th 

       

      Donations may be dropped off at Sibley County Public Health & Human Services, 111 8th St. in Gaylord bewtween 8AM to 4:30PM

      We also need volunteers to sort, wrap gifts, and chaperone and clean up. Any donations or assistance your company can give will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (507)-237-4000.

    1. Christmas Tree Disposal
      12:00 am – 11:45 pm

      Christmas tree pick-up and disposal service is once again to be provided to residents of New Ulm by the city street department.

      Crews will be picking up and disposing natural Christmas trees through January. Residents are requested to remove all ribbon, wire, ornaments, tinsel, and plastic bags and then place the trees on the boulevard area of the intersection nearest to their home or business.

      The Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild meeting in scheduled for this 
      Thursday, January 8th at 7 pm 
      at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm  
       
      We will have a short business meeting, show and tell and end the evening with three wonderful mini classes. 
      We invite all with the love of quilts to attend. All classes and speakers cost $5 for non-members, it is $15 to join the guild.

      Minnesota State Mankato

      Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Dental Hygiene and area dental professionals are joining a statewide effort to provide free dental care on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 5-6 to children under age 18 who are unable to access needed dental care.

      Minnesota State Mankato’s dental hygiene department will provide area children under 18 free dental care on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the dental clinic on campus in the lower level of Morris Hall.

      Appointments are available for children under the age of 18 who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for cleanings, x-rays, exams, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Those interested in scheduling an appointment should call the dental clinic at 507-389-2147.

      Minnesota State Mankato will also be offering free dental exams and x-rays for adults on Friday, Feb. 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments are available by calling 507-389-2147.

      Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Dental Hygiene is part of the College of Allied Health & Nursing at the University.
