−Halloween Community Treat Night in New Ulm5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The New Ulm Sons of the American Legion is again holding their annual Halloween Community Treat Night at the American Legion Club Room at 13 South Minnesota in New Ulm on Wednesday, October 31, from 5-8pm.
Children will receive a chance for a door prize, free candy bag with a nice assortment of candy, glass of juice and a place to sit, rest or warm up for a couple minutes. Parking attendants will also be outside to assist with traffic. The event is for kids ages 15 and under, with a special emphasis on 11 and under.

This year, the annual meeting of the Brown County Senior Citizens will be held in conjunction with a special program sponsored by CAST featuring historian David Jones presenting on the topic of Apollo: Why We Went to the Moon.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, at the New Ulm Community/Senior Center, 600 North German, New Ulm, with doors opening at 10am. Pre-program music will welcome those attending.
In addition, those attending are invited to enjoy a noontime meal of beef tips and gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli & cauliflower, plus dessert and beverage offered through the LSS Senior Nutrition Services, Inc. The meal will be served at 11:50am; anyone 60 or older is asked to contribute $3.85 or whatever your budget allows. Advance reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 359-2243 no later than November 5.
All Brown County Senior Citizens are invited and encouraged to attend. No membership is required.

KNUJ morning radio personality Brian Filzen will serve as the special guest cashier at the Brown County Humane Society’s Annual “Pose Your Pet With Santa” event on Tuesday, November 20. The event will take place at Shayds of Color at 2 South Minnesota in New Ulm and will run from 6-7pm.
Although walk-ins are welcome, appointments are appreciated. Appointments can be made by calling Shayds of Color 507-354-1120. The cost of each photo is $20, with proceeds going to the Brown County Humane Society. Please have your pet on a leash and restrained before and after the photo sitting. Come and meet Brian Filzen and make a Christmas memory of your pet.
