    1. Annual Post 510 American Legion Fish Fry, Nicollet
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      Annual Post 510 American Legion Fish Fry in Nicollet will be taking place Saturday, February 1, 11am-7pm, at American Legion Friendship Hall in Nicollet. 

      Serving German and American potato salad; cole slaw; coffee; milk. Adults/$12; children under 12/$6.

    2. Hamburge Hunting and Fishing Club
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The Hamburg Hunting and Fishing Club is having their 35th Annual Fish Fry on Saturday, February 1, at the Hamburg Community Hall. It’s all you can eat from 11am-7pm.

      Adults/$10; kids 5-12/$6; and 5 and under/free. Take out orders available and they’re selling their sportsman’s calendars.

    3. Fasching and MN Music Hall of Fame Fundraiser, New Ulm
      12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      Come for a fun filled weekend in New Ulm!

      Fasching will be held on Saturday, March 1, noon – 10pm at Turner Hall. Entertainment includes: 12pm Concord Singers; 1-3pm Dain’s Dutchmen; 3-4pm Concord Singers; 4-5:30pm Wendinger Band; 5:30-7pm Dain’s Dutchmen; Parade of Costumes at 7pm; 7:30-8:30am Concord Singers; 8:30-10pm Wendinger Band. Food and beverage available.

      MN Music Hall of Fame Fundraiser will be Sunday, March 2, noon-6pm at Turner Hall. 12pm Dain’s Dutchmen; 1:35pm Wally Pikal featuring Harvey Becker; 3:10pm Leon Helget; 4:40pm Bockfest Boys.     4. Snow Day in the Park, New Ulm
      12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Snow Day in the Park will be held Saturday, February 1, 12-4pm at Harmon Park, 101 North Garden Street, New Ulm.

      Horse-drawn sleigh rides; S’mores over a fire and hot cocoa; 3 skating rinks and warming house; sliding hill (bring your own sled).

    5. Snowfest, New Ulm
      5:30 pm – 11:45 pm

      Snowfest 2014 will be a night to remember! Come to Snowfest on Saturday, February 1, at New Ulm Area Catholic Schools. 

      Come to Snowfest and have the opportunity to bid on one of the largest silent auctions in the area; try your luck on games of chance; dine on delicious food and socialize with friends. All proceeds from the event benefit NUACS.

      Dinner will be served from 5:30-7pm in the Holy Trinity Cafeteria. Bingo will be held from 7-8:30pm. There will also be multiple raffles, pull-tabs, a bake sale, games of chance and both a Live and Silent Auction. The Live Auction begins around 9pm, with the Big Ticket drawing following.

      This event is open to the public.

    6. Super Sunday Benefit Brunch
      5:30 pm – 12:30 pm

      Super Sunday Benefit Brunch will be held Sunday, February 2, from 8:15am-12:30pm at St. Mary’s School Cafeteria, Sleepy Eye.

      Adults/$6; ages 5-12/$3; under 5/free. Serving scrambled eggs with smoked ham; golden potatoes; famous KC donuts; milk; coffee; juice sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #3134.

      Proceeds benefit Divine Providence Auxiliary.

      There will also be a CCW Scholarship Bake Sale Saturday after 5:30pm Mass and Sunday 7:30am-12:30pm at St. Mary’s School Cafeteria. Serving Schmierkuchen; caramel rolls; cinnamon rolls.

      The Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth is having a Catholic United Financial Matching Grant Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 2, serving 9am-12pm in the church hall.

      Serving pancakes; scrambled eggs; sausage; applesauce; coffee; chocolate milk and juice. Cost $6/adults; $5/ages 6-12; $1.50/preschool.

    2. Winter Brunch, Gibbon
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Sunday, February 2, from 9am-12pm, a Winter Brunch will be held at St. Willibrord’s Catholic Church in Gibbon.

      The menu will include cheesy eggs, sausages, fresh fruit, homebaked muffins, rolls and beverages.

      Proceeds will go to St. Willibrord’s Parish Youth who are fundraising for youth trips.

    2. Welcome to Medicare Meeting, Springfield
      4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. will be teaching an introductory class on Medicare. If you are getting ready to turn 65, new to Medicare or just want information about your benefits, this class if for you.

      The class will be held at Springfield Elementary School, Elem. Computer Lab on Tuesday, March 11, from 4-6pm. You must pre-register to attend by calling 507-723-4283. Class size is limited and registration deadline is Tuesday, March 4.

      The local legislators will be giving a preview of the 2014 Legislative Session and their thoughts on what should be the session’s priorities.

      Gallimaufry will share a kids’ music extravaganza on Tuesday, February 25, at 6pm at the New Ulm Public Libary.

      Gallimaufry is an interactive children-focused concert performed by Mankato musicians Ron Arsenault and Dave Pengra. All are welcome to join in an evening of music, education and fun. Registration is not required. For more info, call  507-359-8336.
