    2. Retirement of Terry Sveine at Turner Hall

      New Ulm Chamber of Commerce Announces Retirement of CVB Manager  Terry Sveine. Terry, who began at the Chamber in 1999, is retiring on Monday, October 27th. 

      The NU Chamber is holding a retirement party for Terry on Wednesday, October 29th at Turner Hall, from 4:30-6:30PM, with a short program at 5:30PM. The event is $10, which will include a glass of wine, beer, or soda, as well as appetizers. Please RSVP to chamber@newulm.com or 507-233-4300

      Come and join us at St. Andrew’s Church Fairfax for our annual Fall Bazaar and Baptism/ First Communion Display. 

      Our Famous apple dumplings, cinnamon and caramel rolls will be served starting at 8:30AM.

      Delicious potato/ham and vegetable beef soup, turkey supreme and BBQ sandwiches along with desserts will be served 10:30AM to 1 PM. Come to browse the display of Baptismal and First Communion attire as well as crafts, baked goods, country store items and raffles.

    4. Wabasso Public Library Annual Holiday Craft Show

      The Wabasso Public Library is having its annual Holiday Craft Fair, luncheon, book sale and silent auction on Sunday, November 2 from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Wabasso Community Center.  A lunch of hot turkey and BBQ sandwiches with homemade desserts will be served from 11:00-1:00. There will be a variety of vendors this year for your early Christmas shopping needs. This is a fundraiser for the Wabasso Public Library.

      Community and Seniors Together will sponsor a presentation from MOVE MN on November 5th at 10:30AM at the New Ulm Community Center, 600 N. German, New Ulm. Move MN is a growing coalition of more than 200 elected officials, communities, organizations, associations, and businesses dedicated to fixing Minnesota’s transportation problems.

      Winthrop Area Coat Drive, Nov. 5th from 4-8 PM at First Lutheran Church (213 Hennepin) in Winthrop hosted by Winthrop Volunteer Fire Department and the Women’s Auxiliary 

      Please bring your clean, gently used coats and outerwear to one of our convient drop-off locations. In Winthrop you may bring your donations to : the Winthrop News Office, First Lutheran Church, Peace Lutheran Church, St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church (Bismarck), Zion Lutheran Church or GFW High School. Donations may also be dropped off at the GFW Elementary and Middle school sites. 

      Donations will be collected from Oct. 11th- Nov. 1st

      Open to all individuals or families in need!

      The Christmas season will be soon upon us! Join us in New Ulm, MN for the annual Holiday Shopping Opener! Planned to coincide with deer hunting opener, we’re kicking off the holiday shopping season with events and programs planned over two weekends: Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 14-16. 

      Many of the specialty shops in downtown New Ulm and around the area are also hosting holiday open houses, and will offer free gifts and food samples for shoppers. Stop by the New Ulm Visitors Center for a list of Participating stores.
