AgStar Announces 2017 Annie’s Project Schedule
Women invited to expand farming expertise through six-week programAgStar Financial Services, ACA, is again hosting Annie’s Project, a nationally-known workshop series dedicated to strengthening women’s role in the modern farm enterprise. Sessions will be offered in seven locations in AgStar’s Minnesota service area over the coming months. The first session starts in St. James on January 10.
Annie’s Project connects women who are passionate for agriculture and helps them develop a strong and well-rounded understanding of their farm and the agriculture industry. The program curriculum examines five areas of risk, including production, financial, marketing, legal and human resources. The program is offered as part of the AgStar Edge, a resource for enhancing industry knowledge through online resources and in-person educational events.
“AgStar offers Annie’s Project as an opportunity for women to learn about the common areas of risk in farming and prepare them to make business decisions,” said Amy Durand, AgStar Edge Project Manager.
Launched in 2003, Annie’s Project has successfully reached more than 8,000 farmers and ranchers in 30 states. AgStar began offering the program in 2014.
The 2017 Annie’s Project schedule is as follows:
Mankato – Tuesdays, from February 28 to April 4
St. Cloud – Thursdays, from March 2 to April 6
New Ulm – Tuesdays, from March 7 to April 11
Glencoe – Thursdays, from March 9 to April 13Annie’s Project Retreat also is available for those unable to attend over six weeks. The retreat will be held February 24-26 at the JW Marriott Mall of America. The retreat offers the same content as a regular Annie’s Project session, but in a condensed format. For more information and to sign up for one of the sessions or the retreat, visit AgStar.com/AnniesProject.

Springfield
8/29/2017: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Mayo Clinic Health System, 625 N. Jackson Ave.The American Red Cross urges blood donors to give in the final weeks of summer to help overcome a chronic summer blood shortage.
In August, regular donors may delay giving as final summer vacations are planned and back-to-school activities ramp up. To fully meet the needs of hospital patients in the coming days and weeks, donations are urgently needed from new and current donors. Those who donated blood earlier this summer may be eligible to donate again. Blood can be safely donated every 56 days, and Power Red cells can be donated every 112 days.
As a special thank you, those who come out to give blood or platelets with the Red Cross now through Aug. 31 will be emailed a $5 Target eGiftCard™.*
Appointments can be scheduled by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
