      The first half of property taxes for real estate and personal property will be due on Friday, May 15th.  Payments postmarked after the due date are subject to penalty.

      Payments may be made in person at the Auditor-Treasurer’s office or the Brown County License Bureau.  A drop box is available in the Law Enforcement Center parking lot to accommodate taxpayers as well.

      AREA MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES 2015 

      ARLINGTON - The Memorial Day Program will be held at the Memorial Park in Arlington, at8:30 a.m., on Monday, May 25.

      BELVIEW- Memorial Day program will be held at Odeon Hall at 9:30 a.m.

      BROWNTON- Memorial Day service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m.

      FAIRFAX- Memorial Day service will be held at the Fairfax Auditorium at 9 a.m. Public is welcome.

      FRANKLIN- Memorial Day service will be held at the Cedar Mountain Elementary gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. Public is welcome.

      GAYLORD- Memorial Day program will be held at the Veterans memorial in the City Park at 10 a.m. Before the program, ceremonies will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at 9 a.m. and Norwegian Grove Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. After the Memorial Day program ceremonies will be held at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, Norseland, at 11:30 a.m. Public is welcome. 

      GIBBON- Memorial Day service will be held at GFW Elementary School gymnasium at 9 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome to participate in the annual Children’s March at the close of the service. There will be no potluck this year.

      GLENCOE- Memorial Day Program will be held at Glencoe-Silver-Lake High School gymnasium at 10 a.m. 

      HANSKA- Memorial Day service will be held at the Hanska Community Center at 10:30 a.m. followed by a potluck dinner. The public who attend the dinner are asked to bring a dish to pass. 

      JEFFERS- Memorial Day service will be held at the RRC Jeffers Gym at 10:30 a.m. Potluck dinner will be served at the Senior Center at noon.

      KASOTA- Memorial Day program will be held at the Kasota Community Center at 9 a.m. Memorial Service following the program at the Kasota Hill Cemetery. Public is welcome to attend luncheon at Community Center after service. 

      LAFAYETTE- Memorial Day program will be held in the Lafayette Mini-Park at 10 a.m. In case of rain, program will be held in the Community Center. 

      LAKE CRYSTAL-Memorial Day service will be held at LCWM High School at 9:30 a.m. Public is Welcome.

      LAMBERTON- Memorial Day service will be held at the Lamberton American Legion Hall at 10:30 a.m. Potluck meal will be after the program at the Lamberton Hall. Public is welcome.

      MADELIA- A brief Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the site of the Veterans Memorial at 9 a.m. following with the annual Memorial Day parade at 9:30 a.m. at the Madelia Elementary School with a Memorial Day program after the parade in the Madelia Elementary Auditorium. In case of rain, parade will not be held and the program at the elementary school will begin at 9:45 a.m

      MILROY- Memorial Day program will be held in the Milroy school gym at 10 a.m

      MORGAN- Memorial Day service will be held at Gil-Mor Manor at 10:30 a.m. Public is welcome.

      NEW AUBURN- Memorial Day program will be held at the High Island Cemetery at 11 a.m. 

      NEW ULM-A Memorial Day Parade will be held beginning at 9 a.m. The parade forms between 5th and 7th South by St. Mary’s Church and proceeds north on Minnesota Street. Following the parade an observance will be held at the New Ulm City Cemetery. In case of rain, the service will be held at the Civic Center at 1212 N. Franklin. 

      NICOLLET- Memorial Day program will be held at the Nicollet City Park at 11 a.m and Color Guard will participate in a 2 p.m. service at Hebron Cemetery. In case of rain, both will be held at Legion Friendship Hall. 

      PLATO- Memorial Day service will be held in the Plato Hall at 9 a.m.

      REDWOOD FALLS- Memorial Day program has changed its location to the Redwood Falls National Guard Armory at 6:30 p.m.

      SANBORN- Memorial Day service will be held at Sanborn Veterans Memorial at 10 a.m. or the American Legion Hall in case of rain. Public is welcome.

      ST. PETER- Memorial Day program will be held at Minnesota Square Park at 10:30 a.m. Following the program there will be honors for the people lost or buried at sea at the Highway 99 Broadway Bridge. 

      SLEEPY EYE- The Memorial Day program begins with the raising of the flag at Servicemen’s Club at 9 a.m. The Honor Guard will then march from St. Mary’s School to the St. Mary’s Cemetery following the flag-raising. The Honor Guard will march to the Home Cemetery where a program will be held after the St. Mary’s Cemetery program. The Honor Guard will head down to the Leavenworth Cemetery for the final program after Home Cemetery program. In case of bad weather, exercises will be held in St. Mary’s auditorium at 9:30 a.m. 

      SPRINGFIELD- Memorial Day service will be held in the fine arts auditorium at Springfield Public School at 5 p.m. Public is welcome. 

      STEWART- Memorial Day service will be held at either the Stewart Fire Barn or the Community Center, depending on size of crowd, at 11:30 a.m.

      STORDEN- Memorial Day service will be held at the Storden Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Public is welcome.

      TRUMAN- Memorial Day Program will be held at Truman Elementary Auditorium at 10 a.m. Public is welcome. 

      WANDA- Memorial Day service will be held at the Wanda Legion Hall at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served following the service. 

      WINTHROP- Winthrop Honor Guard will be honoring deceased veterans at area cemeteries this Memorial Day. The South Group will be at Clear Lake Methodist at 7:40 a.m., Clear Lake Lutheran at 7:50 a.m., Clear Lake Baptist at 8:05 a.m., and Augustana Lutheran at 8:15 a.m.. The North Group will be at Bismark Lutheran at 7:40 a.m., Tabor at 7:45 a.m., St. Peter (Moltke) at 8:00 a.m., Gibbon Catholic at 8:15 a.m., and the city of Gibbon at 8:25 a.m.. Both groups will be at Immanuel Lutheran in Gibbon at 8:30 a.m. Times for these salutes are approximate.
