      The Glencoe Lions Club “Music In The Park” series continues on Wednesday, July 20 at Oak Leaf Park, Shelter #2. 

      Free live music, sponsored by McBride Chapel, features Jim and Mike Wendolek with their Old-Time favorites.  They are returning for the fifth season.  

      The Glencoe Lions will be serving a meal with a shredded beef or a pulled pork sandwich, chips, pickles, dessert and beverage at a nominal fee from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the music beginning at 6:30 p.m.

      Bring your lawn chair and Bring a Friend!  Collection boxes for used eyeglasses and hearing aids will also be available.

      We have secured seats in Sections 137 and 138.  These are in Right Field just below the flag pole and will not require a lot of steps.

    2. Lafayette Lions Hog/Corn Roast

      Lafayette Lions Hog/Corn Roast Saturday, August 27

       

                    The Lafayette Area Lions Club will host its annual Hog/Corn Roast Saturday, August 27. Proceeds from the event go towards community projects.

                    The event includes a pork chop/sweet corn meal, served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., along with musical entertainment by local musicians. The Lafayette Band will present its final concert of the season at 6:30 p.m.

                    The evening will conclude with the Lafayette Fire Department Relief Association’s Street Dance with music by the Cold Blooded Whiskey, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

                    The hog/corn roast and entertainment will be held at the Lafayette Fire Station, the street dance a block to the west, in front of Dave’s Place.
