The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring a Snowmobile Youth Safety Class on Saturday, March 23, 8am-5pm, at the St. James Library, 125 5th Street South, St. James.
Youth must be 11 years of age before the class start date in order to be eligible to take the class. Pre-registration is required by obtaining a study cd before March 23 by calling 507-375-2579.

Putting Green, along with the Heart of New Ulm Project, is excited to announce a new addition to the landscape, New Ulm’s Community Garden at Putting Green EcoCenter, corner of 20th S and Valley. Information and sign up meeting will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 7pm in the basement of the library.
A community garden is a place where neighbors and families gather to grow healthy delicious food. Each person will have their own plot to grow their own herbs, flowers, fruit or vegetables. There will be a limited number of plots available for the season and are $35 per plot per season.

Hannah was killed in a car accident on January 16. They will be raising funds to help her family pay for funeral and travel expenses they incured. Hannah’s father Richard is an Iraqi Veteran serving with the Army Reserve. There will also be a silent auction. Price will be $6 per plates includes burgers, fixin’s and fries.

Parents of Easton are Jeff and April Schneider-True; Grandparents are Tim and Jean Schneider; Great-Grandparents are Joe and Audrey Schneider and Howard and Lois Hoffmann. Easton True was born 8 weeks premature on 11/16/12. He was taken to Rochester Mayo Clinic NICU for oxygen support and was making steady progress. On day 8 of Easton’s life, he had an unexplained Grade IV Intraventricular Hemorrhage which lead to nonstop seizures and hydrocephalus. He had an emergency operation on 11/25/12 which saved his life. He has beaten all odds of surviving and an EEG showed normal brain activity for a premature baby. Easton continues to show everyone his strength and sweet personality daily.
