Riding High Saloon Bingo, Cobden
Bar Bingo at Riding High Saloon, Cobden, every Monday night at 6:30pm starting February 1. Proceeds help the Leavenworth Baseball Association.

Teen Book Talk at Library
Teens are invited to share what they're reading at an All About Books teen book talk August 2 at 3pm at New Ulm Public Library. Refreshments will be provided. All teens, as well as 12 years old who will turn 13 this summer, are welcome. For information, call the library at 507-359-8334

  Vial of L.I.F.E.

The Vial of L.I.F.E. is a place for an individual to store important medical information that emergency medical personnel need in a time of crisis. By completing the Vial of L.I.F.E. form, you can provide the emergency personnel with vital life-saving information, even if you are unable. You fill out the forms and place it inside the plastic vial. The vial is then placed inside the refrigerator. The Vial of L.I.F.E. kit is available free as a public service from your Ambulance and Fire Service, as well as Sibley County Public Health and Veterans Services. A Collaborative effort with Arlington, Gaylord and Winthrop Ambulance Services and Sibley County Public Health and Veterans Services, 1-800-LINKVET.

Premium Books Available for Brown County Free Fair
The 2010 Brown County Free Fair is set for August 11-15 at the fairgrounds in New Ulm. Premium books for open class and FFA are now available at most Brown County banks and food stores. The Premium Book also contains entry forms for the Demo Derbies held Wednesday and Saturday nights, Truck/Tractor Pull held Sunday afternoon and the Brown County Amateur Talent Contest to held Thursday. 'A Giant Story'
A 'Giant Story' is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 31 - August 1, from 12-4:30pm at the historic W.W. Mayo House and Mayoview History Center, 118 and 112 North Main Street in LeSueur. This event is held in conjunction with LeSueur's Giant Celebration. Saturday Ralph Thrane speaks about 'The Golden Days of the Jolly Green Giant 1958-1978' from 12-4:30pm. 31st Annual West Newton Day
Sunday, August 1, 1-4pm - The 31st annual event celebrates the heritage of the Minnesota settlement of West Newton that existed halfway between New Ulm and Fort Ridgely from 1856-1901. Historic photographs from Bob and Agnes Gleisner will be on display, as well as the history of the Alexander Harkin Family. They invite any descendants of West Newton's earliest settlers to share their stories and any old photographs for the special event.

CAST Programs

Wii Bowling League
Begins the week of January 11. Team entry fees are $1 and consist of 2 players. Bowlers may either sit or stand to play. Call 354-3212 to register or to just try Wii for the first time. Open bowling is also available if joining a league is not your thing.

Shuffleboard
Senior men and women gather each Monday afternoon at 1pm to play shuffleboard. CAST has two courts at the Community Center. Join the fun and get a little mild exercise doing so.

Ping Pong
is available every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Stop by and play; bring a friend. Call 354-3212 if you want to reserve a special time.

Knitting for Seniors
Senior men and women are invited to learn knitting through CAST. Instructor Plyllis Kosbab will offer a 6 week class beginning October 14, meeting each Wednesday from 9:30-11 am. Class size is limited to 12, so call 354-3212 to register. There is no fee and materials will be provided.


Bingo for Seniors

Wednesdays, July 7, 14, 21, 28 - CAST will sponsor bingo for seniors at the Community Center, 600 N Minnesota. Cash prizes will be awarded. Questions, call 354-3212

Bridge Players Welcome!

Monday evenings at 6:30pm and Wednesday afternoons at 1pm
, bridge players of all levels are invited to drop in at Sunset Apartments, 1610 Sunset Ave and play the grand old game. Tables are formed as folks arrive and beginners are encouraged to keep learning the game. There s no cost for this event. Questions, call 354-3212

Table Tennis
Bring a friend or pick up a partner and play some Ping Pong at the Community Center. The table is ready each Tuesday and Thursday morning, starting January 6, between 8-10am. Afternoon hours may be extended if additional time is needed. Call 507-354-3212 with questions

Greeting Cards

Every Tuesday morning at 9 am you are needed to join the volunteers who gather at the New Ulm Community Center to make beautiful greeting cards. New volunteers are welcome...no skills required. CAST also welcomes all your old greeting cards to be recycled. Drop off those cards in the box outside the door at 600 N German, New Ulm.

Current Events Discussion Group
Every Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 am, a current events discussion group, sponsored by CAST will be held at the Community Center in New Ulm. Join us and share your opinions of local, national, and international events. The coffeepot is on! For information, contact Diane at 354-3212
