The former Twin hit a two-run shot in the first inning and Austin Jackson added a two-run blast in the fourth for Detroit. P.J. Walters dropped to 2-and-2 with the loss. Brian Dozier homered and Clete Thomas singled in a run for Minnesota.</p>
<p>The Twins have today off. Minnesota has dropped three of four to fall to 30-and-36. They will begin a three-game set hosting the White Sox tomorrow night.</p>
<p>Mauer Still Leads In AL All-Star Vote</p>
<p>Twins catcher Joe Mauer still leads his position in the latest update for American League All-Star voting. Mauer leads Baltimore Orioles backstop Matt Wieters by just over 500-thousand votes. Former Twins outfielder Torii Hunter slipped from third in the outfield down to fourth. The All-Star Game is July 16th at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.</p>

Morneau ripped a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth for Minnesota, which had lost four of its previous five.  Oswaldo Arcia also poked an RBI double while Brian Duensing picked up the win in relief.  Glen Perkins locked down his 14th save in the victory.  Ryan Howard and Michael Young each drove in a run for Philadelphia, which has dropped four straight.  Cole Hamels pitched six innings of two-run ball in the start but it was Mike Adams that suffered the loss in relief.  The same two teams play tonight in the Twin Cities. </p>

<p>The Phillies continue their three-game series with the Twins tonight at Target Field.  Tyler Cloyd will take the mound for the Phils.  He is 2-and-2 with a 3.68 ERA in five starts.
