NEW ULM-A Memorial Day observance will begin with a parade at 9 a.m. sharp on Monday. The parade will travel between 5th and 7th South by St. Mary’s Church and proceeds north on Minnesota Street. In case of rain the services will be held at the National Guard Armory at 10 a.m. The Observance at the cemetery begins at 10 a.m.

BELLE PLAINE- A Memorial Day Service will be held at Veterans Park in Belle Plaine beginning at 11 a.m. Keynote speaker is Sergeant First Class Jeremy Nagorski of Belle Plaine. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In case of rain the program will be held at Chatfield Elementary School located at 330 South Market Street.

BELVIEW- Program will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Oden Hall. Services will be held at each Belview cemetery, followed by a potluck at the American Legion Hall.

BROWNTON- The Brownton Memorial Day Service will be held on Second Street North in front of the Brownton Community Center. Brownton American Legion Post 143 will host its annual Memorial Day celebration Monday at 11 a.m. at the Brownton Community Center. A potluck will start at noon.

CAMBRIA- A Memorial Day Service will open at 9:30 a.m. at Morgan Creek with Evans Post #329 in charge. Rites will continue at 10 a.m. at Cambria Cemetery. Coffee and doughnuts will be served following the service at Cambria Town Hall. In case of rain the service will be held in the Wellcome Memorial Community Gym.

CLEVELAND – After a year of rain, organizers in Cleveland hope to move the Memorial Day program back outside. A short ceremony starts at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park. The Legion will be serving food and beverages following the ceremony.

FAIRFAX- A Memorial Service will be held at the Fairfax Community Center at 9 a.m. Coffee and cookies will be served after the program.

FRANKLIN- A Memorial Day Service will be held at Cedar Mountain Elementary Gym in Franklin at 9:30 a.m. A Gun Salute and P.O.W. Flag Raising Ceremony will follow at Highway 19 Flag Display weather permitting.

GAYLORD- The Memorial Program will begin at 10 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial in City Park and will be presented by Gaylord Legion Post #433 and its Auxiliary. Music will be performed by the Sibley East High School Band. The Gaylord Legion will hold services at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at 9 a.m., Norwegian Grove Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., and Scandian Grove Lutheran Church of Norseland at 11:30 a.m.

GIBBON-A Memorial Day Service will be held at the GFW Elementary School gym in Gibbon at 9 a.m. This year marks the 75th Anniversary of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor which led to a declaration of war by the United States. No potluck this year. Children of all ages will be given American Flags and are invited to participate in the annual Children’s March at the close of the service.

GLENCOE- The Glencoe American Legion Post 95 will begin its Memorial Day observances with a special church service at Christ Lutheran Church Sunday at 9 a.m. The Legion and VFW Post 5102 will present a joint Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. at the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School Auditorium.

HANSKA- A Memorial Day Service will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Hanska Community Center with a potluck dinner.

HENDERSON- Henderson’s Memorial Day program is set for Monday, May 29th with a parade. Lineup will start at 10:15 behind the Post Office and the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. A service will take place at afterwards at Bender Park. The event will feature Legion members lying a wreath on the unknown soldiers gave and a 21-gun salute from the Honor Guard. The public is invited to stay for free ice cream provided by American Legion Post 74.

LAFAYETTE – Memorial Day services sponsored by American Legion Post 300 and Auxiliary Unit 300 will begin at 10 a.m. in the Lafayette Mini-Park uptown. In case of rain the service will be held in the Community Center. Following the service there will be a potluck dinner at the Community Center/mini park starting at 11:00 a.m.

LAKE CRYSTAL- Members of the John W. Roth Post 294 American Legion and Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Service beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the Lake Crystal, Welcome Memorial Secondary School. The Lake Crystal Community Band will play patriotic music from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

LAMBERTON-A Memorial Day Service will be held Monday, May 29th at 10:30 at the Lamberton American Legion Hall. A potluck meal will be held at the Lamberton hall following the program. The public is invited.

LE CENTER – Memorial Day begins in Le Center with a parade that begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs south on Montgomery Avenue before turning west long Minnesota Street. From there the route turns north on Lexington Avenue and ends at Tri-City United Le Center Elementary Middle School. The Memorial Day program starts at the conclusion of the parade around 10 a.m. A potluck begins at the Legion at noon.

LEWISVILLE- A Memorial Day Program will be held for the Lewisville area at Trinity Lutheran Church Fledon Cemetery beginning at 8 a.m. The program will continue at 8:30 at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in South Branch followed by stops at Ridgelawn Cemetery at 8:55 a.m., St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery of Antrim at 9 a.m., Antrim Public Cemetery at 9:25 a.m. St. John’s Lutheran South Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. and Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville at 10:20 a.m. In case of rain the service will be held inside the church. A Memorial Day breakfast will be held at the Lewisville Legion from 6:30 a.m. until 9 a.m.

MADELIA- Memorial Day Weekend programs will start on Saturday May 27th at 9 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery with the placement of flags at all three Madelia cemeteries. A Memorial Day observance will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Madelia Veterans Memorial which will be followed by a short program. At 9:30 a.m. a parade will begin at Madelia Elementary School traveling west on First Street. North East to Benzel Avenue North West, down Benzel Avenue to Main Street and back to Adams Avenue North East to the Elementary School. In case of rain the parade will not be held. The Memorial Day Program will begin at 10:00 a.m. Following the program a mass will be held at Calvary Cemetery followed by a Military Salute at the grave of Maurice Crowley. A short service will be held at the Luther Memorial Home and the community is invited to a potluck dinner at the American Legion beginning at 12:15 p.m.

MILROY- A service will be held at the school in Milroy at 10 a.m. with potluck at the community park afterwards.

MORGAN- A Memorial Day Service will be held at Gilmor Manner in Morgan at 10:30 a.m. A potluck dinner will be hald at 11:30 a.m. at Mike Larsen’s place.

NEW AUBURN- New Auburn VFW Post 7266 will hosts a Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the High Island park building.

NICOLLET- The Memorial Day Service, sponsored by American Legion Post 510 and Auxiliary Unit 510 and the Sons of the American Legion will begin at 11 a.m. in Nicollet County Park. The Nicollet Color Guard will participate in a 2 p.m. service at Hebron Cemetery. In case of rain, both services will be held at Legion Friendship Hall. There will be a potluck dinner at the hall at noon. American Legion Post 518 will perform Color Guard duties at the Belgrade Swedish Cemetery at 3 p.m.

PLATO- A Memorial Day Service will take place at 9 a.m. at the Plato Community Hall.

REDWOOD FALLS- A Memorial Day program will be held at the National Guard Armory at 6:30 p.m.

ST. JAMES- A Memorial Day program will be held Monday morning at 10 a.m. with a program at the Memorial Park band shelter. Lunch will follow at the St. James VFW Post 1914.

SANBORN- A program will be held at 10 a.m. at the Sanborn veteran’s memorial. If there is rain the program will be held at the American Legion Hall.

SLEEPY EYE- Sleepy Eye’s Memorial Day programs include observances at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Home Cemetery and Leavenworth Cemetery beginning at 9 a.m at Veterans Park. with the raising of the flag at the Servicemen’s Club. Coffee and Doughnuts will be served at the Servicemen’s Club and Leavenworth Church following services. Busses will be available for public transportation to the cemeteries. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Sleepy Eye High School Gym at 9:30 a.m.

SPRINGFIELD- A Memorial Day Service will be held at the John Watson Post 257 American Legion at 5 p.m. Monday in the performing arts auditorium at Springfield Public School. The Legion Auxiliary will serve a light supper in the Legion Hall following the program. The public is invited.

TRUMAN- A Memorial Day program will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Truman Elementary Auditorium. All members of the public are invited to attend. A lunch will follow at the Truman Community Building.

WABASSO- A Memorial Day program will be held at 10 a.m. in the Wabasso Community Center. A potluck will follow the service.

WALNUT Grove- A Memorial Day Program will start at 9:30 in the school gym.

WINTHROP- The Winthrop Honor Guard will be honoring deceased Veterans at area cemeteries. Times are approximate. The South Group will be at Clear Lake Methodist at 7:40 a.m. Clear Lake Lutheran at 7:50 a.m. Clear Lake Baptist at 8:05 a.m. and Augustana Lutheran at 8:15 a.m. The North Group will be at Bismark Lutheran at 7:40 a.m. Tabor at 7:45 a.m. St. Peters at 8 a.m. Gibbon Catholic at 8:15 a.m. Gibbon City at 8:25 a.m. Both groups will met at Immanuel Lutheran in Gibbon at 8:30 a.m.

SILVER-LAKE- Silver Lake American Legion Post 141 will host the Memorial Day ceremony in Silver Lake with a parade on Main Street beginning at 10:45 a.m. The parade ends at Legion Park on Main Street where the service will begin at 11 a.m.

ST. PETER- A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Minnesota Square Park. There will be a procession of the American Legion Color Guard and Govenaires Drug and Bugle Corps from Nicollet County Courthouse to Minnesota Square Park starting around 10:15 a.m.

STEWART- Stewart American Legion Post 125 will host a service in front of the veterans memorial at the Stewart Community Center at 10 a.m. There will be a community potluck
