NEW ULM – The parade starts at 9 am and forms between 5th and 7th South by St. Mary’s Church and proceeds North on Minnesota Street.  An observance will be held at 10 am at the city cemetery. Master of ceremonies is Ramona Widmer, current Adjtant of DAV Chapter 15 and a member of Legion Post 132 and VFW Post 1648 in New Ulm.  The Gettysburg Address will be recited by New Ulm High School 2018 graduate and 2017 American Legion Boys’ State delegate Jacob Todd. The Memorial Address will be recited by 2018 Cathedral graduate Nathan Hauser, who was also a 2017 American Legion Boys State delegate.


BIRD ISLAND – Program begins at 8:45 am at the Bird Island campus gymnasium

BUFFALO LAKE – American Legion Post #469 will host a Memorial Day observance departing from city hall at 9 am for the Village Cemetery were ceremonies will be held.

CLEVELAND –   Program at 10 am at Elim Welsh Cemetery.  Speaker is Honorable Rich Draheim, Senator Minnesota District 20.

COSMOS – Service will be held at 11 am at the city park with a potluck dinner to follow.

FAIRFAX  - Obervance at 9 am at the Fairfax Community Center.  Speaker is Vietnam Veteran Ray Clark.

FRANKLIN  - Observance at the Franklin Community Center at 9:30 am.  Speaker is Vietnam Veteran and Franklin graduate Steve Davidson.

GAYLORD – Legion Post #433 and Auxiliary will host the program at 10 am at the Veterans Memorial in City Park.  Featured speaker will be Sibley County Veterans’ Service Officer Lisa Klenk. Ceremonies will also be held at 9 am at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery and Norwegian Grove Cemetery at 9:30.

GLENCOE – The Glencoe VFW Post 5102 and American Legion Post 510 will co-host a service at 10 am in the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School Auditorium.  A Memorial Service will also be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 9 am.

HECTOR – Observances will begin at various cemeteries starting with Churchill at 7:45 am and ending at the city cemetery at 9:15.  A program will take place at the BLHS School in Hector at 10:30.

KASOTA –  Program at 9 am at the Kasota Community Center.  Speaker is State Senator Chris Eaton, DFL- Brooklyn Park and Tim Wilson, the mayor of Brooklyn Park.  There will also be a Memorial service at Kasota Hill Cemetery on South Mill Street following the program.  

LAMBERTON – Program will start at 10:30 am at the American Legion followed by a potluck.

LEWISVILLE – Services begin at 8 am at Trinity Lutheran – Fieldon Cemetery and will continue to other cemeteries in the Lewisville area.  A Memorial Day breakfast will be from 6:30 – 9 am at the Lewisville Legion.

LUCAN – Program in the community center at 7 with a band concert preceding the program at 6:30 pm

MORGAN –  Observace at Gil-Mor Manor at 10:30 am.  

MILROY – Program beginning at 10 am at the school followed by a program in city park.  

NEW AUBURN – Post 7266 and its Auxiliary will host a service at 11 am at the High Island Cemetery.

REDWOOD FALLS – Program begins at 6:30 pm at the Redwood Falls National Guard Armory.  Past national commander of the American Legion Daniel Ludwig will speak.

SANBORN  - Program will be held at the Sanborn Veterans Memorial starting at 10 am.

ST. PETER – Program at 10:30 at Minnesota Square Park.  Speaker is CSM Stephen Whitehead, MN National Guard, 1st Jr. Vice commander, DAV National, Adjutant, DAV Department of MN.   There will also be honors for those lost or buried at sea. Everyone is invited to the boat landing at Riverside park after the observance.

SLEEPY EYE –  Program will start at Veterans Park at 9 am and go to St. Mary’s and then Home Cemetery for the program at 9:30.  A special part of the program will be a fly-over during the address.

SPRINGFIELD – John Watson Post 257 will conduct the Memorial Day service at 5 pm at the performing arts auditorium at the Springfield Public school.  Address will be given by U.S Army Veteran Khyle Radke of Tracy.

STEWART – Program begins at the Community Center at 10 with a potluck to follow.

TRUMAN – Program 10 at the Truman Elementary Auditorium.

WABASSO – Program starts at 10 am at the community center.  Second Lieutenant Kendra Goblirsch will offer the Memorial address.

WINTHROP –  The Memorial Day parade will begin at 10:20 am on Second Street by the County Garage and arrive at the cemetery at 10:30 for the start of the program.  Program speaker will be Retired Reservist Amy Eustis.
