School Announcements/Cancellations


- Harry Potter Yoga at Hanska Library has been cancelled


- 8:00 Church Services for Swan Lake Lutheran Church Cancelled (7/22/18)


-The Red Jacket Trail, between Moreland Avenue in Mankato and Indian Lake Road near Weagel Park, was closed beginning Wednesday, June 27 for tree removal associated with the County Road 1 project. Trail users should expect this portion of the trail to be closed for approximately 3-4 weeks while the contractor removes trees and performs grading in this area. The Red Jacket Trail will remain open for use south of Weagel Park.

For their own safety and the safety of the workers, trail users are asked to please obey all posted closure signage in the area. For more information on the County Road 1 project, contact the Blue Earth County Highway Department at (507) 304-4025.


-Due to high water levels on Lake Hanska, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone to please be considerate and mindful of the wake your boat generates while enjoying your boating activities. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is asking boaters to keep speeds at a minimum near the shorelines due to concerns of environmental erosion. - The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office has issued a No Wake restriction for all Le Sueur County Lakes effective immediately. 

- The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has issued a No Wake restriction for the following lakes: Lake George, Lake Ballantyne, Duck Lake and Madison Lake. 

- The water levels in all Martin County lakes has risen to heights that could damage shorlines or property. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Slow No Wake that is in effect on all lakes in Martin County until further notice. 

- Cottonwood County is putting a No Wake Restriction for Cottonwood Lake  within 300 feet of shore. The No Wake Zone is in effect until further notice. There is already a No Wake Zone in effect within 300 feet of the shoreline at Fish Lake southeast of Windom. 

- All events scheduled for Memorial Park for St. James Railroad Days have been moved to the parking lot behind the community building. For more information check the website 


-All events at Riverside Park in Springfield have been cancelled due to the rising river. Many other events for Riverside Days are still taking place and have been moved to other locations. Click here to see other events still taking place    –

-Watonwan County Is putting on a No Wake restriction on Long Lake do to the high water.  The restriction will remain in effect until further notice.
