Teh Prinzenpaar of the German-American Mardi Gras Association will serve as Grand Marshals of New Ulm’s German-American Day Parade, a feature of Oktoberfest 2012. Prinz Darrel I and Prinzessin Patricia I, national GAMGA royalty, will lead the parade.
The parade will form at New Ulm’s Glockenspiel at 10:30am on Saturday, October 6, and march off at 11am. It will proceed south along Minnesota Street to Center Street. The parade is sponsored by the German-Bohemian Heritage Society. The public is invited to participate on foot, on horseback or on wheels. Families and urged to make a sign with family name, add the year in which the family arrived in America and/or New Ulm and join the parade. Participants are encouraged to wear their German costume is possible and carry American and German flags. Musical units and floats are invited to add to the festivities.
