The Buckthorn Removal Challenge is a fun and easy way to volunteer, improve the environment, get some exercise and earn up to $200 each week for six weeks.
Gather a team; select a captain; pick up an application packet at front desk of the Recreation Center, this will provide the information you need to register. All events will be held initially on the bike trail. Depending on the supply of berried-trees, other sites may be used. A team can hold their event any time that is convenient for the team during the 7-day periods. The dates include: Aug 16-22; Aug 23-29; Aug 30-Sept 5; Sept 6-12; Sept 13-19; Sept 20-26. Each event will last 2 hours or $100/hour. The team that removes the most berried trees in 2 hours will receive $200 for that week, winner take all.
