New Ulm man leaves goat in car to die 08 Oct 18

A New Ulm man is facing multiple charges after leaving a goat tied up in a vehicle to die. On the morning of August 26th, New Ulm Police were dispatched to the alley behind the B&L Bar for the report of an animal left in a vehicle. When the officer arrived he could hear bawling noises coming from the vehicle, and the animal had labored breathing. The officer located and identified the owner as 28-year-old Achoge Colins Nwunneh. When they returned to the car, they found that the goat had died. The goat’s front and rear legs were bound tightly together with a green rope. Nwunneh told Police that he bought the goat the night before in Gibbon and intended on butchering it in the parking stall, but left it in the car after friends told him he couldn’t butcher the goat in that area. He was charged today (Monday) in Brown County Court with counts of mistreating animals, animal cruelty, illegal animal enclosure, and depriving animal of nourishment or shelter.
