New Ulm woman was charged for falsifying a police report 11 Sep 18

A New Ulm woman has been charged with felony forgery and gross misdemeanor insurance fraud. According to the criminal complaint, 50-year-old Kathleen Saunders claimed she was in an auto accident in Carver County in February on her way to a training event for work and filed for worker’s compensation. She reported six rib fractures. An investigation went underway and it was discovered that she fabricated the accident report, Police typically type these up, Saunders’ was handwritten. Investigators also found Google searches on her computer about how to fill out an accident report and research on Carver County officer names and pictures of broken ribs. There were also no records of Saunders seeking medical treatment in the Carver County area. She has since moved to Illinois.
