New Ulm Chamber Hot Topics: Regional Workforce Development 13 Sep 18

“Members all over the industry sectors are struggling to find the quality and quantity of people
they need to maintain and grow their businesses. This Hot Topics Lunch will inform the community
on what efforts are being done to address the issue and where we need some help,” stated Audra
Shaneman, President and CEO of the New Ulm Area Chamber.

This Hot Topics Lunch will be on Friday, September 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the New Ulm Middle School
(414 S. Payne Street, use Door #3). Cost for the program and lunch is $10 and payable at the door.
Please RSVP by noon on Tuesday, September 18 to the Chamber at 507-233-4300 or

The program will have a regional workforce update from the Minnesota Department of Employee
and Economic Development (DEED). The group will also hear from ISD 88, local businesses about
their situations and the Chamber on their efforts to make an impact.

The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has a membership of over 350 businesses including
New Ulm’s largest employers, retailers, professional services and interested individuals. The
Chamber’s mission is to support and strengthen their members by developing and promoting the
business community in New Ulm. Each year, their Business Action Team identifies initiatives or
topics that would be of interest to the business community, chamber members and the
community as a whole. Past Hot Topics events have included speakers from the Minnesota
Department of Employment and Economic Development, Bill Blazar from the Minnesota Chamber
of Commerce, an update on the child care situation in Brown County and legislative session
previews. Hot Topics are open to the community and all are encouraged to attend.
