Alcohol involved in rollover accident near Comfrey 18 Sep 18

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a one vehicle roll-over accident on September 16th by Mound Creek Park west of Comfrey.  A Mercury Montego, driven by 22-year-old Landon Evans of Revere, was totaled from the accident after it rolled into the ditch. Evans received a minor injury and his passenger was not injured. According to the criminal complaint, Evans moved the Montego from the scene of the crash and when authorities located the vehicle, it was driving on a rim with no tire on the driver’s side and the side airbags had been deployed on both sides of the vehicle. Evans told authorities that he didn’t report the accident because he had way too much to drink to be driving. Cases of beer were found in the rear seat and the officer could smell the alcohol on Evans. Evans gave a breath sample that showed he had an alcohol level of .197, more than twice the legal limit. Evans has two prior impaired driving incidents.
