Body found in drainage ditch near Hector 07 Jul 18

Update: A male body was found Saturday around 12:12pm in a drainage ditch near Hector. It is believed to be the body of 24 year old Adam Michael Rein of Buffalo Lake. About one mile downstream from the site of the submerged vehicle, the body was discovered. It has been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identity confirmation. Renville County Sheriff’s office as assisted Saturday by a local aviator and North Star Search and Rescue. The investigation continues.

He was last seen July 2nd in Hector around 11 p.m. According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office the Buffalo Lake Police Department took a report of missing person Adam Michael Rein on Thursday. Also that day the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of what appeared to be a vehicle submerged in a drainage ditch northeast of Hector in Hector Township. Officers noticed indications that a vehicle had gone off the road on 800th Avenue, west of Renville County Road 22 and entered the ditch. The vehicle could not be seen in the water, but a disruption in the current was noticed. The vehicle was recovered from the ditch and was determined to be Rein’s vehicle although it was unoccupied.
