Nicollet man facing drug charges falsely reports crime 04 Jul 18

A Nicollet man called the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office in the early morning hours on June 28th to report being shot by an unknown person. When deputies arrived shortly before 2:30 a.m. they found 29-year-old Cullan David Franzen with a gunshot wound to the leg and finger. Franzen claimed he went outside to investigate a noise when he was shot by a single gunshot. After talking to Franzen and viewing the injuries, investigators executed a search warrant. After searching the property authorities found blood belonging to Franzen in the garage, a spent casing, bullet and firearm inside Franzen’s vehicle as well as several pounds of marijuana, growing equipment and cash. Franzen has been charged with a felony count for sale of drugs, a felony charge of possession of drugs, a misdemeanor charge of falsely reporting a crime and one count of petty misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
