Life guards, pool attendees save boys life at Sleepy Eye Aquatic Center 12 Jul 18

A 14-year-old boy with an awareness of his surroundings, aquatic center staff and first responders saved a young boys life Tuesday afternoon at the Sleepy Eye Aquatic Center. John Baures was playing basketball in the pool that afternoon when he saw a young boy swimming by him go under water, slip and inhale water. He brought the boy to the surface where a life guard, 16-year-old Jackie Nesset and a registered nurse began performing CPR on the boy. 911 was called and Sleepy Eye Ambulance members gave the boy oxygen and he began breathing and talking. The child has not been identified due to privacy.
