Hometown Heroes: STEM Teachers Scott Picha and Heather Pierce 17 Jul 18

8-60 AM KNUJ/SAM 107-3 and your New Ulm Hy Vee announce this month’s Hometown Heroes:  STEM Teachers Scott Picha at Lakeside Elementary and Heather Pierce at Lincoln Elementary  in the Glencoe Silver Lake School District.      The schools this year were recognized as a Project Lead the Way Distinguished School for providing access to transformative learning opportunities for students in the STEM and Career Learning Program.    Only 97 elementary schools across the nation received this honor.  Project lead the way students engage in critical and creative thinking, build teamwork skills and develop a passion in STEM projects.      Our latest Hometown Heroes Glencoe Silver Lake teachers Lakeside Elementary’s Scott Picha and Lincoln Elementary’s Heather Pierce.   They’ll receive a Hy Vee gift card and be recognized at a luncheon this fall.
