Hogs block traffic after truck overturns near Mankato 19 Jul 18

An overturned semi is responsible for releasing at least 20 animals onto a highway near Mankato. The hogs blocked traffic yesterday morning after the truck veered off the ramp from westbound Highway 14 to southbound Highway 169 in North Mankato. According to the state patrol, the semi driver, 30-year-old Corey Ray Ehlers of Winnebago, lost control of the semi and it rolled off the ramp. One lane of Highway 169 was shut down while responders rounded up the animals. The ramp where the truck rolled over and another nearby ramp were also closed. The driver suffered only minor injuries while some of the hogs were killed in the crash.
