New Ulm driver airlifted to metro hospital following crash 03 May 18

A New Ulm driver involved in a 2 vehicle accident on Highway 14 was airlifted to a metro hospital following the crash. According to the state patrol, a Ford Fusion driven by 34-year-old Gary Lee Lienig of New Ulm was struck by a semi driven by 76-year-old Fredrick Raymond Amberg of Olivia that ran a stop sign Wednesday morning on a detour route between New Ulm and Courtland. Lienig was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center by ambulance and then airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center where he is in satisfactory condition. Lienig was stopped on County Road 37 shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning and attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 14 when the crash happened.
