New Chinese restaurant in former Truman Cafe making final preparations 17 May 18

The China House Cafe is making the final preparations in anticopation of opening soon in the former Truman Cafe building. Owner Johnny Voung has 25 years of restaurant experience and came to the area to help open the Asi9an Palace in Fairmont. Preparations include a new rubber roof, new paint on the walls and ceilings and a new industrial wok range in the kitchen. Former Truman Cafe employees Shelia Breitbarth and Linda Carlson will join Voung. Breitbrarth will work the front of the house while Carlson will head up the grills for the American menu. Voung’s partner, Ling, will also be part of a team. The restaurant plans to start out being open from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The China House Cafe is in the process of going through final inspections. The cafe has a Facebook page where they will announce opening day.
