Donations pour into Northrop during grain elevator fire 08 Jan 18

The grain elevator fire in Northrop over the New Year’s weekend will not soon be forgotten. What will also be remembered is the donations from an unknown number of people and businesses who answered the call for help. Some of the items donated included hand warmers, socks, Chapstick, mittens, food and drinks. The outpouring of support needed to be organized and available in a central location. That’s when Northrop residents Tom and Heidi Koertz opened their home for people to drop off donations. The donations went from their house to the Old Northrop Bar, which provided a place for fireman to eat meals and warm up.
