Softest Sugar Cookies (that hold their shape) - submitted by Danielle Schlumpberger of Courtland

3/4 c butter, softened
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1 3/4 t almond extract
1 t salt
3 c flour

In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat butter until soft and fluffy. Add softened cream cheese and beat until well mixed. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg, and extracts. Beat well, scrape sides of bowl with spatula. Add salt and flour and beat until just barely combined. Cover tightly and chill for 2 hours or overnight. Roll dough onto floured surface to 3/8″ thick and cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes. Do not brown. Leave cookies on pan for 5 minutes then immediately transfer to a large covered tupperware.
