Driver, passenger in pursuit both charged 22 Dec 17

Both the driver who led authorities on a high-speed chase through three counties and his passenger have been charged with multiple felonies. Driver Larry Edward Brown Junior of Worthington was charged in Nicollet County District Court Thursday for fleeing police, receiving stolen property and bringing stolen goods across state lines. His passenger, 23-year-old Alyssa Joy Goodheart of Hays, Kansas was charged for aiding and abetting fleeing police, receiving stolen property and bringing stolen goods across state lines. She was also charged with giving police false information. The couple stopped at New Creation Outreach church in North Mankato seeking gas money Tuesday morning in a pickup they had stolen from Iowa. Church staff called police because Goodheart appeared to have been recently beaten. Police tried to stop them after they left the church which began the chase that ended in the Janesville area. According to the criminal complaint, Brown told authorities Goodheart told him to flee and not to stop. He denied causing her injuries. Goodheart reportedly Goodheart reportedly told police Brown had assaulted her and she continued their relationship because he threatened to kill her and her family. She denied being involved in the vehicle theft or encouraging Brown to flee.
