On December 26th, 1862, 38 Dakota warriors were hanged in Mankato following the U.S. Dakota Conflict. For more than 10 years the riders have braved the December elements, arriving at Reconciliation Park December 26th. The group of riders known as the Dakota 38 plus 2 Memorial Ride left Lower Brule, South Dakota and will arrive in Redwood Falls for a brief stay to allow the horses and riders to rest.
