860 AM KNUJ/SAM 107.3 and your New Ulm Hy Vee, announce this month’s Hometown Hero:   Yvonne O’Brien of Winthrop.   This past summer Yvonne was recognized for her volunteer efforts by The Minnesota Valley Action Council.   She received The Roger J. Wolfe award- which honors individuals volunteering in their community above and beyond.  O’Brien worked almost 30 years for MN Valley Action Council.  She has been a member of the local Legion Auxiliary the past 40 years,  belongs to the Women’s Federation Group and the Social Concerns Committee , is a charter member of the Senior Dining Program in Sibley County  and helped in starting the Sibley County Food Shelf.   Our latest hometown hero:   Yvonne O’Brien of Winthrop.  She’ll receive a Hy Vee gift card and be honored at a luncheon next fall
