State auditor’s analysis show municipal liquor store losses for 2016 13 Nov 17

The State Auditor’s Analysis of Municipal Liquor Store Operations report was released recently showing 45 Minnesota cities reported net losses for 2016. Some of the cities that reported net losses include Tracy, Fairfax, Butterfield, Vesta, Walnut Grove, Sleepy Eye and Hanska. Area cities showing city liquor store profits in 2016 include Buffalo Lake, Glencoe Granite Falls, Hutchinson, Madelia, Montevideo, Olivia, Redwood Falls, St. James and Silver Lake. For many Greater Minnesota communities, municipal liquor stores provide access and convenience in areas that may be unable to attract a privately-run establishment.
