Projects receive broadband grants 22 Nov 17

Some area projects will receive funding to expand rural internet access.  NU-Telecom will receive around $325,000 to install fiber optics lines south of Hanska.  The fiber network will provide internet access for up to nine households and 38 businesses.  Winthrop Telephone Company will get over $365,000 to improve boradband service in Cornish Township in Sibley County and will serve 58 unserved households and two unserved businesses.  Funding will also be awarded to the Milroy broadband project in both Redwood and Lyon Counties and to BEVCOMM for a boradband project near Delavan in Faribault County.
