New Ulm woman charged with stealing medication 18 Nov 17

A New Ulm woman is accused of stealing painkillers from a Mankato assisted living facility where she worked. 56-year-old Sharon Kay Byro was charged with felony burglary and felony theft Thursday in Blue Earth County District Court. Staff at an assisted living facility installed a surveillance camera in June after hydrocodone and fentanyl were missing from the medicine cabinet. According to the criminal complaint, an unidentifiable woman was caught on camera twice taking medications. After the camera was repositioned and the painkillers were moved to a new location, a woman who co-workers identified as Byro allegedly was recorded attempting to take medication.
