Fairfax man charged for passing fake $100 bill 09 Nov 17

A Fairfax man has been charged in Sibley County District Court on October 30th with a gross misdemeanor for passing counterfeit currency. On October 16th, Gibbon Police responded to a call from the United Xpress convenience store in Gibbon for a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed on October 15th. According to the criminal complaint, 19-year-old David Dustin purchased $3 worth of items with a $100 bill and was given change. The cashier noticed the bill may be fake, but Dustin left before she could take action. Law enforcement verified the bill was fake and matched other counterfeit bills found in Gibbon during the past year.
