Ex Gibbon teacher pleads guilty to sexual conduct with student 30 Nov 17

A former Gibbon teacher who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy will likely spend three years on probation. 40-year-old Megan Jo Johnson pleaded guilty to gross misdemeanor criminal sexual conduct Tuesday in Sibley County District Court. A felony criminal sexual conduct charge was dropped. According to the criminal report, Johnson reported to authorities in March she was having sex with a 17-year-old boy she knew. Johnson was a kindergarten teacher at Prairie Lutheran School and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon and met the boy when he came to church seeking help for personal matters. She will be sentenced in January. According to the plea deal, she will receive no executed jail time.
