Daudt suspends Cornish chairmanship in wake of allegations 10 Nov 17

State House Speaker Kurt Daudt has suspended the chairmanship of a Republican lawmaker accused of sexual harassment. A Minnesota lobbyist and a female lawmaker are accusing Representative Tony Cornish of sexual harassment. The two women made statements Thursday regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct. The lobyist, who didn’t want to be named, says Cornish relentlessly pursued her for several years, frequently texting her and at least once cornering her in his office. Representative Erin Maye Quade says Cornish sent her inappropriate texts commenting on her appearance. Late Thursday, Daudt put out a statement saying Cornish is suspended from his House Public Safety Committee chairmanship and that human resources staff will be looking into the allegations. Cornish denies the allegations.
