New Ulm apartment fire ruled arson 17 Oct 17

The apartment fire Saturday at 509 Center Street in New Ulm has been ruled arson. Charged in the arson is 37-*year-old Tanya Marie Lieder. She is charged with one count of arson in the first degree and a second charge of obstructing the legal process from her actions when she was arrested. According to investigators, it appears there are two points of origin in the kitchen area of the apartment where the fire was intentionally set. No one was injured in the fire, but two cats were found in the building and one was deceased. The second story where the apartment was sustained smoke damage. The first floor of Kemske Office Solutions sustained some water damage.
