An inmate at the Sibley County jail reportedly escaped but was immediately apprehended across the street. A correctional officer was retrieving a receipt in the jail lobby when he failed to completely close the door leading to the jail. Once the officer was inside the jail, inmate 44-year-old Jason Ruehling caused a disturbance as a distraction and then made his way outside. Ruehling has been charged with escape from custody and fourth-degree assault. He was jailed for violating a restraining order.
