Renaissance Festival preparing to relocate 22 Sep 17

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival needs a home in 2020 and St. Lawrence Township and Jordan residents are concerned about the impacts of traffic at the proposed festival site. Mid-America Festivals, the company that runs the festival, owns 150 acres northeast of Belle Plaine, but southwest of the fairgrounds. Jordan residents are concerned about the thousands of cars that will travel Highways 169 and 282 in Jordan to get to the proposed festival site during the seven-week run. The festival is moving because the owners of the land where the festival is currently held would rather mine aggregate than renew a lease for the Renaissance Festival. The 2019 season is expected to be the last season at the current site.
