Charges being considered in quarry blast 23 Sep 17

Criminal charges are being considered in a blast at the Jordan Sands quarry in Mankato that caused rocks the size of bowling balls to fall on properties neighboring the quarry. The rocks caused minor damage to a house, an apartment building and a tree. In respone, the Mankato Department of Public Safety began an investigation. The investigation has been turned over to the Blue Earth County Attorney’s Office who will decide if the company violated state laws. No details of the investigation have been released until a charging decision is made.
