New Ulm man charged with felony sexual conduct facing stalking charges 19 Aug 17

A New Ulm man previously charged with multiple counts of criminal felony sexual conduct for allegedly molesting a teenage girl is now facing stalking charges and a domestic abuse charge of violating an order for protection. Robert J. Sorenson was recently arrested for tracking his wife with an OnStar vehicle device. According to the criminal complaint, on June 14th Wendy Sorenson told a Nicollet County Sheriff’s Investigator she believed she was being monitored by her vehicle’s OnStar system that allows subscribers to remotely view a vehicles location via GPS. The investigator obtained OnStar records that show 479 logins from January 1 until June 16th. Robert Sorenson admitted to investigators that he had OnStar on Wendy Sorenson’s vehicle. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for September 12th in Nicollet.
