New Ulm City Council approves expansion of Industrial Park 19 Jul 17

The New Ulm City Council authorized the signing of a purchase agreement for 43.94 acres of additional land in the Airport Industrial Park. In 2016 the council directed city manager Brian Gramentz to research potential properties to be purchased and developed for industrial purposes. The land is located adjacent to Walmart and accessed by Jacobs and Somsen Streets. Funding for the land comes from the city’s land acquisition fund, an EDA repayment, the city’s revolving loan fund and general fund reserves. Closing on the land is expected to take place on or before December 15th. Until the land is developed for a project the city plans to rent the land for agriculture use.
