New Ulm Police rescue ducklings from storm sewer 15 May 17

The New Ulm Police Department performed a rescue from a storm sewer this weekend. On Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. officers were called to a storm sewer grate near the BMX track where wood ducklings had fallen down the grate. Officers recovered 14 ducklings and they were returned to their mother. After the mother and her ducklings left, officers could still hear more baby ducks deeper underground. Eight more ducklings were recovered and given to a local humanitarian to raise.
