Liana Blomgren of Butterfield – This month’s Hometown Hero 13 Apr 17

Last fall,    at the section cross country meet in Luverne , an eighth grade competitor collapsed time and time again from fatigue and chest tightness.  Liana came to the rescue and helped the ailing athlete across the finish line. Liana knew without her help her opponent wasn’t going to get to the finish line by herself and there was no one else to help her.     In accordance with State High School League rules, both  runners were disqualified.  Because of Liana’s true sportsmanship, these rules have now been changed.    The runner aided by Blomgrem said Liana was like my angel that  day.    Our latest Hometown Hero: Mountain Lake Senior Liana Blomgren,  she’ll receive a prize package and be honored at a luncheon this fall.
