Henderson’s history with Prince to be featured on memorial story 19 Apr 17

This Friday will mark the one-year anniversary of Prince’s death. He died at the age of 57 due to an accidental overdose of Fentanyl. Since his passing, Henderson residents have shared stories about the pop star and the few scenes in Prince’s 1984 film “Purple Rain” which was filmed in Henderson. On Tuesday, April 11th, a film crew from KSTP Channel 5 News came to Henderson to shoot footage of the “Purple Rain” sites. The segment will air tonight (Wednesday) on the 10 p.m. news. Several scenes of Prince riding his motorcycle featured Henderson farmland including the Arnold Brethke’s farm, Deloris Nagel’s farm and Darlene Boehne’s farm.
