1 medium head cabbage, coarsely shredded
1 t salt
2 T brown sugar
3 – 4 c water
Pork roast, cut up or country-style ribs
2 potatoes, grated
Pepper to taste
1/2 c vinegar

Put in large pot, all ingredients, except potatoes; bring to a boil. Simmer for 2 hours. Remove meat and stir in potatoes. After potatoes are added, needs to be stirred as they like to burn on. Put meat back in and keep warm. May add more sugar or vinegar according to your taste. Serve with boiled potato dumplings.
