Woman convicted of severe beating of 8 year old New Ulm boy 11 Feb 17

A Colorado Springs, Colorado woman was convicted this week in Brown County District Court for severely beating a juvenile relative in a New Ulm hotel in 2015. Thirty-two-year-old Amelia M. Harden entered a Norgaard plea and was sentenced to 10 years of probation and 80 hours of community service. According to the criminal complaint, the boy told police on December 26th, 2015 Harden threw him against a wall, punched him, kicked him in the face, bit him and struck him in the face with a television remote. He had multiple injuries visible including what doctors described as a severe strangulation injury.
